WHAT'S A TINA PIE?

Well, there's no such thing as a tina pie.  It's a spin on the Filipino word tinapay which means bread and "tinapie" is how you would actually say it.

It all started when I took some baking classes at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City.  I loved it so much that I decided to take more classes.  I love how simple ingredients such as flour, butter, eggs and sugar can be combined to make such tasty treats.  But I wanted my cakes to also look good so I signed up for some cake decorating classes at Wilton and The New School.  I really love creating designs and decors that would complement my cakes.  It's a lot of work but also a lot of fun.

In early 2005, I finally decided to get into the business so that I can share my passion which is to create memorable masterpieces that not only looks good but also tastes good.  I also wanted to introduce a little bit of my Filipino heritage by creating Filipino-inspired cakes.  Who knows, maybe someday I'll create a Filipino-inspired dessert worthy to be called a tina pie.  In the meantime, let me create the cake of your dreams, the one that will be the highlight of your celebration and the talk of the town.

Maraming salamat po (Thank you)!
