HOW MUCH DOES A SPECIALTY CAKE COST?
Our specialty cakes are priced per serving.  Specialty cakes include wedding cakes, birthday cakes, custom-designed celebration cakes, etc.

Cakes start at $8.00 per serving

Minimum of 50 servings for wedding cakes and sculpture cakes.
Minimum of 30 servings for birthday and other specialty cakes.

Special decorations such as sculptures and figurines average at $100 to $150 depending on complexity of design.


The final price is determined by the design, decorations and number of servings you select.  Delivery fees are additional and are determined by the distance, time, and setup requirements.  Equipment (risers, boards, pillars, rental items, etc.) is additional and is determined by the size and setup requirements of the cake.  Click here to view sample prices.

WHAT IS FONDANT ICING?
Fondant is a porcelain-smooth finished icing that can keep a cake fresh for several days by protecting it from air exposure. It's a popular choice for wedding cakes because of it's very smooth finish but it can be used in all types of cakes.  It has a very rich and sweet taste almost like marshmallows.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM ORDER?
Minimum of 50 servings for wedding cakes.
Minimum of 30 servings for birthday and other specialty cakes.

HOW MANY SERVINGS SHOULD I ORDER?
The number of servings depends on your number of guests.  For example, a 9" cake typically serves 30 people.  Click here to download our cake serving chart so that you have an idea of the number of servings per cake size.

HOW MUCH DO THOSE SPECIAL DECORATIONS SUCH AS YOUR HANDMADE SCULPTURES COSTS?
Our special decorations such as sculptures, figurines and sugar flowers are meticulously made by hand. Prices vary depending on the intricacy of design. We will evaluate the design and calculate the number of hours that it will take to complete the sculpture or decor element. Our hourly rate is $75 which includes time and materials.

DO YOU DELIVER THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY?
Our primary delivery area is throughout New York City.  Delivery charges are as follows:

$60 - 5 NYC Boroughs within a 15 mile radius
$3 per mile charge over the 15 mile radius

We can also deliver within the Tri-state area. Delivery charge will be calculated according to time and distance.

We have successfully shipped and delivered cakes beyond the Northeast such as Arizona, Las Vegas and, Florida via Fedex.  We ship cakes via Fedex overnight to ensure freshness. Shipping charges depend on total weight and delivery location.

MAY I SAMPLE YOUR CAKES?
Yes, we can send you a sample box with a variety of cake flavors.  You will receive 5 three inch round cakes of our choice  Sample box costs $85 plus $8.10 for shipping.

CAN WE SCHEDULE A CONSULTATION?  ANY REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO BOOKING A CONSULTATION?
Consultations can be scheduled BY APPOINTMENT ONLY,  Mondays and Fridays and lasts for 1 hour.  We request that you determine your overall budget for your wedding cake prior to your consultation.  We cannot guarantee additional consultations so we request that the person who will make the final decision for your wedding cake be present at the initial tasting.  As a courtesy, we request a minimum of 24 hours notice should you need to cancel your appointment. We charge $75 for the consultation which will be applied to your purchase.  A minimum order of 50 servings is required to schedule a cake consultation.

MAY I SUPPLY DESIGN IDEAS?
We welcome design ideas from our clients since we cater to your personal taste and style.  We have a portfolio of original designs that you can review.  You may select one of these designs or have us create a customized design. We do not copy cakes produced by other cake decorators or published in magazines and books.  There may also be some design requests we cannot execute.  However, feel free to bring in pictures, magazines, or books that will assist us in determining your desired cake style.

WHEN SHOULD I PLACE MY ORDER?
For wedding cakes, it is highly recommended that you place your order a minimum of four to six months in advance. Our peak season for weddings is April through November.  Reservations are taken on a first come, first served basis, and a 50% nonrefundable deposit is required. All deposits and payments are nonrefundable and nontransferable.  If your date is nearly booked before you have an opportunity to meet with us we suggest that you send in a nonrefundable deposit to hold your reservation.  Final details for your cake are not due until one month prior to your event.

For birthday cakes and other events, you must place your order 2 weeks in advance.  But it is advisable for you to book months in advanced in order to hold the date.  A 50% nonrefundable deposit also applies.

HOW DO I PAY MY ORDER?
Cash, check, money orders, or cashier checks are accepted.  We currently do not accept credit cards but will be doing so in the near future.

WHAT ARE THE TERMS WITH RENTED ITEMS?
Securities are placed on a credit card or cash for rented items such as risers, boards, pillars, etc.  You have up to 3 days to return the item or the security will not be refunded.

WHERE IS TINAPIE BAKEHOUSE LOCATED?
We are located in Flushing, New York.   We are NOT a retail establishment so cake consultations are by appointment ONLY.
